  The Deity of Jesus Christ
Foreward Perhaps the most attacked area of our faith by cults and pagan religions is the deity of Jesus Christ. "Is Christ really God Himself?" is the question. To make Jesus Christ a mere man means that Mankind will not have to give an account for his actions on the Day of Judgement.

For Christ to die on the cross but be a mere man meant that there is no power in His blood to wash away sins and to break the chain of demonic power off from people's lives. It means that God does not love us to the point he would take Judement upon Himself to bring us back to Him.

  • Phil. 2:6-7 - Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fulness of the attributes which makes God God], did not think this equality with God was something to be eagerly grasped or retained, But stripeed Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.

  • John 10:10 cf. 10:33 - I and the Father are One.... The Jews replied, We are not going to stone You for a good act, but for blasphemy, because You, a mere Man, make Yourself [out to be] God.

  • John 1:1 cf 1:14 - In the beginning [before all time] was the Word {Christ}, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. [Isa. 9:6] .... And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate)....
